# Protocol gatekeeping

{% hint style="success" %}
Protects integration quality
{% endhint %}

Similar to [asset whitelisting](/degenprime/security/asset-whitelisting.md), protocols need to be whitelisted before they can be used too. New and illiquid assets can be volatile, but protocols can be just as tricky.

The whitelisting of protocols, and their [Liquidity Pools](/degenprime/degen-account/the-degen-account/liquidity-pools.md), ensures that our [Degenerates](/degenprime/protocol/double-ds/degenerates.md) don't put their own and borrowed funds into a protocol with security risks. More importantly, this also goes for Liquidity Pools of which the creator has malicious intent.

Both the asset whitelisting and protocol gatekeeping keeps the funds of Diamond Hands ánd Degenerates safe. Any new integrations will be announced on our social channels and will be visible on DegenPrime at least 7 days before the integration goes live.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://degenprime.gitbook.io/degenprime/security/protocol-gatekeeping.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
